First Teaser Poster and Details on RISE OF THE GUARDIANS
In the upcoming 3D computer-animated action adventure RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, Alec Baldwin is the voice of Santa. It’s quite a while until the film will be realeased but now we got some first impressions on the film and Alec’s role. So, Santa seems to be a very special guy, heavily tattooed and, according to the L.A. Times, with a Russian accent.
Hitfix.com writes about Alec’s role: “Voiced by Alec Baldwin, he’s a huge larger than life figure who can seem gruff and scary in one moment, wise and jovial in another. He has what basically look like Russian prison tattoos running across both forearms, and his reindeer and sleigh are nothing like what we just saw in “Arthur Christmas.” This is Santa as a badass, and it’s an interesting interpretation, both visually and in the way Baldwin’s playing him.”
RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is based on William Joyce’s forthcoming “The Guardians of Childhood” books and is being directed by Peter Ramsey and co-directed by William Joyce. It tells the story of a group of heroes — each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.
Alongside Alec Baldwin as North (Santa Claus) RISE OF THE GUARDIANS stars Chris Pine as Jack Frost, Hugh Jackman as Bunnymund (Easter Bunny), Isla Fisher as Tooth (Tooth Fairy) and Jude Law as Pitch (The Boogeyman). The film will be produced by DreamWorks Animation and is set for release on November 21, 2012.
